is it the road or the wheels that don't move? sort of a chicken andegg kind of thing. reminds of bedspins. never knew whether it was the bed or the floor that was moving. oh, i get it, we're talking metaphors. i am so confused by these singer songwriter beatwriter types.

I love this one. Jay harmonizing in the upper register. Lots of wonder here about the rest of the recording. I think this first modern 'Jack Collection' is going to "bop prosody" our brains and set the standard.

Dog-gone, I can't wait to hear this rekkid.

Had to give it the ol' six-pack listen and by golly it's almost perfect!
I'd like it Gibbard had been a little more vocal at the end and not buried
in the mix though his vocals are beautiful very musical in teh rest of the song. The phrase - "these roads don't move. You're the one who moves", is pure JF genius or JK written and JF noted genius. Yeah, I'm waiting foe the mail on this one yo!

New to the board, long time Farrar fan....I think this song is fantastic. Never been a huge Death Cab for Cutie fan, but Gibbard sounds great...looking forward to hearing the whole album!

Lead Off Hit

Post by Grifterwithafunnylittleha »

Lead single, beaux-seephurs:

Top of the list, and I just keep remembering over and over again that Jack wrote stuff down, and now our favorite songwriters are bringing it all to life.

I can't imagine anything better. (Kidding: I can think of a bunch of stuff that adds up, but I don't want to dilute the message.)

This record is going to blow minds. Anybody who has ever read Jack's works will get it all.

Hi everyone - This track has been added to the NPR site. Check it out. It's from the Kerouac album. Jay wrote it and Ben sings it.
