That sucks. You have no idea what the hell you're talking about. 8)
Seriously. It's not my fault that that guy's opinion is wrong.
How can an opinion be wrong? We are not stating facts here. Are you Barry from High Fidelity?
It was a joke, dummy.

I never said Patterson was a good singer.

Jason is an incredibly overrated guitarist.

Cooley is my favorite too.

I should have written more clearly. Isbell has the best voice and was by far the best guitar player in that group. I also happen to think he is a fantastic lyricist in his own right. That being said, Mike Cooley is my favorite Trucker. The stroker ace is one bad mofo. I doesn't get any better than Zip City, Women without Whiskey, and Where the Devil Don't Stay.
Ok, now that you've broken your crack habit, let's slowly pull the syringe out of your arm, and flush the pills down the toilet. We'll get you through this together. The drugs are very greatly affecting your perceptions of reality. I don't mean to come down on you, but this is for your own good.
Care to elaborate or perhaps add something other than smart ass remarks to this discussion? I was stating an opinion. I'm interested to hear yours
He's not a better guitarist than Cooley, and he's not a better songwriter than Patterson. He's also a freaking terrible singer. The timbre of his voice is fine, but he can't control his pitch in a live performance. He also ruins other songs when he attempts to wail harmony on them. It makes my skin crawl.
First, he was the best guitarist in that band, and I feel fairly certain even Cooley would admit that. If you think Patterson is a better songwriter so be it. Patterson is certainly more accomplished and has a larger catalog of songs. I personally think they are both wonderful lyricists, but Cooley is my favorite. I really can't believe you think he's a terrible singer. I admit that he does struggle to sing over the music in live performances, but if anyone in that band can't sing, it's Patterson. But again, mostly those are all just opinions. The Truckers are my favorite band, so it's not like I'm putting anyone down.
