Since the whole Lollapalooza tour has been cancelled, I'll be seeing The Bob Dylan Show instead of Wilco at the Molson Amphitheatre.
The Bob Dylan Show will be opening his tour of minor leage ballparks at the home of the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY on Friday August 6th.
The bill will be coheadlined with Willie Nelson of which there are around twenty dates. The Hot Club of Cowtown will be the opener.
Tickets for the whole tour will be GA and the first leg goes on sale this Saturday June 26th.

Which on you gonna go to then? Richmond Fontaine I'd love to see live!!!
the plan is to go to the music fest for the day. they usally shut it down and start sending the crowd home before midnight. we're going to try and duck out a little early and catch the end of the richmond fontaine show after that. the bars can stay open until 2:30 and if they have a late start they may still be playing. richmond fontaine will be back on the west coast later this summer. two cow garage is going to open up some shows for them after their new record is released in august.

dammit i ordered mine from Maple Music a few weeks ago and still nothing. Junkies in Boulder at the end of August. saw them at the Fillmore in Denver in 2001 - finally after missing them for years up by Buffalo/Toronto. Tim Easton opened.

some rock this summer

Post by woodtype »

starting with:

Drag the River tonight in Denver
and they are playing throughout the summer....they are local around here (Colorado) but do make it around. They rock.

+ Red Cloud--another great band..on the Up & Coming Tip

+ Old 97s this August (cheesey radio "rock fest") but they still rock.

+ Thee Shams

+ The Samples

+ DJ Greyboy

+ Lucinda Williams

+ Waitin for Farrar to come round here. Did last summer at Mishiwaka Amp. Very cool, mellow show. Venue sits riverside.

rock and roll

I forgot to mention the highlight of my summer.
Chris Hillman & Herb Pederrson, Bernie Leadon and a Flying Burrito Brothers tribute to Gram Parsons @ Exibition Grounds Toronto, ON July 17th
Chris Hillman as you all should know is the original bassist in The Byrds and Flying Burrito Brothers.
Bernie Leadon was the lead guitarist in the Flying Burrito Brothers and the original lead guitarist in The Eagles.
It should be a great day of Byrds, Parsons, Eagles songs and even Dylan some Bob Dylan covers to be sure.

I am very envious of TimmyB!! Your summer music schedule is awesome!!

I love Ontario, and was seriously thinking of heading that way in August for a week or so. I would kind of like to make a road trip and catch the Wilco shows in Ottawa and Montreal, then Lollapalooza in Toronto.

A few summers ago we flew to Detroit and rented a vehicle, and spent the next week all over Ontario. Great place. We spent the most time at Parry Sound, on the Georgian Bay. I could really live there!!!

I'm from Hamilton Ontario, Canada and the Cowboy Junkies are playing Hamilton on July 3rd but I'm seeing Van Halen that night in Toronto at the Air Canada Centre. So I might see the Junkies in Peterborough the night before on July 2nd.

J.J. Cale @ Lee's Palace (where I recently saw Farrar) in Toronto, ON June 27th
Van Halen @ Air Canada Centre (ACC) in Toronto, ON July 3rd
Eric Clapton @ ACC July 7th
Eric Clapton @ HSBC Arena in Buffalo, NY July 9th
The Jim Cuddy Band (one of two lead vocalists in Blue Rodeo) @ Bayfront Park, Hamilton, ON as part of Aquafest July 10th FREE ADMISSION
Sting @ ACC July 14th
Prince @ ACC July 27th
Lollapalooza (with Wilco, The Flaming Lips, The String Cheese Incident, Gomez, The Polyphonic Spree, and more) @ The Molson Amphitheatre August 6th
