I'd watch the Crowes, then leave to hit the Dinosaur Jr. show....but this is coming from the biggest Tom Petty hater on the planet...

It was good.

The Crowes were good, however their set did drag a little, I'm not a fan of the newer stuff. They did a Stones cover (?), I don't know the name but the chorus is something like;
As long as the guitar plays
I'm going to try to steal your heart away.

I didn't know that Jesus was singing for them now.

Petty was great, 115 mins worth. The highlight of his set was the Traveling Wilberry's song Handle with Care. He said, "This goes out to all Wilberrys were ever they are traveling tonight."

One major problem, there was too many people there. It took 15 to 20 mins to go to the bathroom and get a beer and that was while the music was on, in between the music was worst. Needless to say that I don't get a beer buzz.

Brokedown Palace indeed

Yeah...it was great...one of my Dead faves as well...very unexpected and cool.

I hadn't seen the Crowes since a club show in 1990, so you can imagine my anticipation. I wish I had made it to one of their theater dates in Atlanta.

Cheers.

Tampa show

Post by zbowho »

I saw them in Tampa this past Friday.

Petty was great as always.

I was a little dissappointed with the Crowes (as I'm a big fan). They only played like an hour (I sorta figured it would be more than just your basic opening act set). Although, I have to mention their smokin version of the Dead song "Brokedown Palace"...good stuff.

Enjoy the show!

Has anyone seen this tour yet?
