hmmm...fancy demos. i'll call it a Neil and Lanois project then. i'm sure if would be a hoot with the other players but probably not feasible with the everyone's schedule. there's still room for overdubbing for sure. for me it's another Neil experiment that's worth documenting and releasing to the world.el caballo loco wrote:It comes off to me as very expensive demos. The songs sound like they need to be further developed. Also, Neil should have brought on The Horse for this project. Lanois with Billy, Ralph, & Poncho would be an absolute fuckin' hoot.unchartedthickets wrote:well i'm listening to Le Noize and I must say that for no overdubs
it's amazing. i would have guessed on the first cut that there was heavy overdubs on this project. mic placement, tape to protools and post production badassness. i do agree with the Neil live sentiment but "I thought I was and Aztec or a runner in Peru..." it's a well placed basement late night jam record. Angry World shows that NY hasn't lost his humor.

I thought the acoustic "telling" of Greendale was a lot cooler than the live performance with Crazy Horse.Tokyo Fan wrote:My copy of Greendale includes the bonus dvd: live at vicar st. which is Neil performing the entire album solo. Tremendous performance.Mark Spencer wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-9nlETnSUI
I saw the first two nights of the Greendale tour in the US, and most people just didn't get it...and it didn't help that the radio stations plugged the show as a greatest hits package.

Two of my favorites after Harvest Moon -Mirror Ball, the album he recorded with Pearl Jam and Broken Arrow with Crazy Horse. I wonder if David Briggs was around what his recent offerings would sound like. His last few releases for me have been one listen and back on the shelf. I didn't buy Fork in the Road and I'm not going anywhere near Le Noise either.
