Low Life Kingdom and Sea Engines are incredible. For whatever my opinion is worth, I think it's some of the finest work Jay has done.

Low Life Kingdom

Have you sent men here for this cold clown
Monstrous eater at the world?
Send illumination to our drowning brains
Slime hoops and iodine weeds

I’ve got to believe in you
Or live in death

I’m gonna die in full despair
Wake up where
The atmosphere is dearer
Maybe closer to heaven

We try to make our way
No aid comes from
Whatever and wherever
Low life kingdom
Where we part out tea
Heaven dear suggested to promise us

You’ve not seen mermaids in my actual sea
Her name is oh so really high life

I’m gonna die in full despair
Wake up where
The atmosphere is dearer
Maybe closer to heaven

My golden empty soul
Will outlast your salty sill
In a billion years of trying
We’ve had no crack at eternity

I’ve got to believe in you
Or live in death

I’m gonna die in full despair
Wake up where
The atmosphere is dearer
Maybe closer to heaven

This song is gorgeous! My favorite of the lot so far... Still working on liking Gibbard's voice. I'm guessing I'll get there. I guess I just feel that if That Voice  is in the room, why wouldn't you use it on all the songs? Then again, I love the Gob Iron album and how Anders and Jay share the vocals on it. So, I just have to let this sink in some. Right?

Thanks, when you get time, how about the whole CD? Also, where the heck did the ACD lyrics go?

I've been listening to it non-stop for a couple days. It's fantastic. I've never gotten into Death Cab, but Gibbard's voice and phrasings are perfect on these songs. Really looking forward to seeing this live at Webster Hall.

I pre-ordered the vinyl (I am not an audiophile, but I do enjoy the experience of slapping some vinyl on a platter) and got the album in mp3 form with my order. I think it sounds wonderful. Gibbard's voice bothered me the first few times I listened, but I'm definitely warming up to it. This album is a major, major grower. In a not-so-shocking development, Jay has crushed another HR here with this Bur Sur project.

Whatever Monkeygunner's trip is, he's an audiophile with good taste.

You are just jealous. His hearing is so much more sophisticated than the rest of us grunts.
