Even better!!Hoops wrote:Antelope850 wrote:Did they really play Coltrane Free? Sweet. If they played that one the bitching about Chickamauga is even more lame.
As I was typing the setlist (all from hazy memory), I was really unsure about 'Coltrane'. Sorry, probably wrong. But other than that, I think I am spot-on.
EDIT: I think it was Phosphate Skin instead of Coltrane.

great post. thanks.Rob73 wrote:We had a great time. We arrived at the Pageant early to snatch up the early entry passes to get into the venue first. We went to the Halo bar entrance to make sure we actually were the first ones and then I went back to the car to get the chairs so we could sit while waiting it out. As I was walking back, who was walking against me in my path.....none other than Jay Farrar himself. I had no idea what to say so I said something retarded like "Hey Jay, how's it going? Looking forward to the show tonight, man". Yeah I felt pretty stupid at that point but it was still cool to meet someone whom I've been looking up to for years. After that, it was the long boring wait. Around 5-ish, we got the passes and then went for some food. At 6:30p we got in. It was pretty cool to be the very first to walk into a show. We bought shirts, a poster, etc.
Magnolia Electric Co. were good. We enjoyed their set even though we really weren't too familiar with their material. I have that limited edition live cd of theirs but that's it. The SV set list was pretty much the standard for this tour. I don't have it written down but it opened with Satellite and ended with Chick. I was kinda surprized that there were no horns for The Picture. I know it will probably never happen but I always hope for a special hometown setlist opening with No Depression or something haha. Anyway, the show was good and we had a great time.
After the show, there was a meet and greet signing thing. Euclid Records had these flyers on the tables saying that if you bought a cd or a dvd, you could get it signed at the end of the show. My fiance got one so we could do just that. We thought it might be Jay alone doing the signing thing but it turned out to be the whole band which was really cool. It was great to get the opportunity to finally meet all of the guys. They were really cool to us. When I got to Jay, I said "Hello again, Jay". Jay said "oh yeah, I remember you!" Haha that was pretty cool. I asked about the upcoming vinyl release and he just said that it was coming out in May. I know it was just one of those run of the mill signing things but they really seemed down to earth and friendly. That meant a lot to me. If any of you guys in the band are reading this, I just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to chat for a second. I know that signing thing was probably one of the last things you guys felt like doing after a show....and also thanks for not giving us that "rock star" treatment. That meant a lot to us. I've had that happen to me before while meeting bands and that kinda made me like them a little less. In this case, I like the band even more. It's one thing to be good musicians but to also be friendly to the fans immediately after a show.....that's definitely going the extra mile.
So yeah, for us, it was certainly a good time.

So...I know there was the one complaint about the show...but I had expected to see the set list posted, etc. I was there, but my friend that I was with snatched the set list. I did, however, after Damn Shame recieve Jay's harmonica. He kinda like tossed it to me.
So no complaints here.
