I agree, though I have yet to listen to the bonus tracks. I remember reading in a promo for the album before it came out that Jay was utilizing middle eastern sounds on this record, and I thought to myself, "oh no not again." But fortunately there is little of it on the original 14 tracks. Although when I heard the intro to Meth, I thought I was going to have to douse myself in gasoline for fear that he ruined a classic gem. About 5 seconds later, I realized it was just a teaser.

I love Waking World, but I can see why Coltrane Free was not included on the CD. That synth-sitar-guitar sound is awful and ruins the song for me. Jay has been messing with that sound since Sebastopol and in my opinion it needs to stop. Aside from George Harrison, Ravi Shankar's influence on rock music has been a tragedy.
