Well OBVIOUSLY Jay should duet with me. I thought that was a given? The rest is just, ya know - if he has the time and inclination to do other duets after the mindblowing duet records he’s BOUND to make with me (he’d probably have to be BOUND, but don’t think that hasn’t crossed my mind a time or two). And what would be the point of any post-Devonie dueting, honestly? We'll be like Captain and Tennille or Sonny and Cher, or perhaps something far less horrible than the two examples provided...

Yes – our singing-voices are similar in level of sadness. His is a deep, sad baritone and mine is a hopelessly depressing alto of doom. It’d be epic. There would not be enough Zoloft in the WORLD to battle against the despair that we could craft.

sighhhhhh.

Freaky dancing....um, yeah...thanks.
But imagine the visual! It would be the most unlikely pairing ever! You couldn't keep from watching/listening to the complete absurdity of it if they did "I Got Drunk (And I Fell Down)" f'rinstance.

If Jay and Emmylou ever did a duet, it would most likely be a Gram Parsons cover. This might actually work. I know I'm stating the obvious, so don't be hatin'. :D

I think Jay should produce Loretta Lynn's next album since she fancies younger men these days. Jay knows more about country music than anyone in Nashville these days.

Jay Farrar and Anders Parker.

Gob Iron

We have less than months now to wait -- sometime in October, we're going to have a Board Listening party ... everybody que up the NEW RECORD at 9 pm Eastern US and we'll chirp about the sacred.

I'll tell you this: I won't post a damn thing or have a friggin' computer in front of me when I soak in that new Jayfers ...

Listening parties are essential to preserving fandom. I love my bands on Tuesdays when they put out new records.

My prediction is that they'll sing a duet on the 4th of NEVUARY.

I guess those two being my fave artist is the reason for this. Might not be great, but would be cool to think about.
