i was in the balcony, straight back along the left wall (if you're facing the stage, that is) - my mics were near the floor, mounted on my custom foam head (each mic at the approximate position of the human ear, facing outwards and and angled toward the stage.) too much information for ya?

sorry to have fueled this two-topic sprawl.

there is also another version of the entire evening that is complete with the encore.

hopefully the in studio from before the show on 91.3 will surface too.

where were you sitting galoof?

i recorded the show with my core sound binaurals and a sharp mt877 minidisc - sounds pretty good, but i fucked up and didn't get the encore. got the whole anders parker opening set as well.

i might be willing to do some trades on a limited basis - the show will be ready for action in a couple weeks.

I'll be there tonight.

Also I was wondering about recording the show. Is Jay allow this or does he frown upon it. I have recorded before at the Iron Horse with a small digital recorder on a single mono track. It comes out pretty well.

I never sell the recordings, but may make a few copies.

i'm going to try and make it. anders parker is great. then ya get anders, jud, and mark backing jay. that promises to be an excellent set. what would be the icing is if the four of 'em do a couple varnaline songs.

Anybody on this board going to the mass show on Tuesday night? I have seen Son Volt live once, back in '97, but missed Jay when he came to Boston a couple of years back. His solo set looks great--and I am looking forward to it.
