Another slowpoke here and ashamed. Esp cause we left ACL before seeing his set after the BB jr. and C.Masterson goodness.
I hope to make it up to RB; listening to Sunshine.
I would travel to see him.

I owe the exposure of Anders Parker, Gram Parsons, the Bottlerockets, and the Drive By Truckers to this board. I'd heard of all of them except for Anders, but the Board got me to search out and listen. I'm sure I am missing others.

The Board has also gotten me to listen to more Jay. There were a few tracks on early albums I never really picked up (Hanging Blue Side comes to mind) and that I now listen to often. As well, The Search didn't grab me for a while, but as a Boarder I felt I needed to give it another go. I'd say it finally hooked me last weekend.

As far as slow-cooked brisket goes, here in Charleston Il the grocery stores do not sell brisket. It's the craziest thing I've ever experienced.
Most don't in the midwest. Check Walmart or Sam's if you have one close. I buy most of mine from Sam's cause they carry USDA Choice. Sometimes WM has Choice but usually just Select.

It's out of control.
Not only has the board turned my on to quite a few great musicians but I really dig the other Jay related links and versions

Jay girls are not only smart, funny, oh yeah, and beyond smoking--I believe most of us have mad skills beyond what most of you guys have ever seen!!!!!!!

I'm a long time lurker that rarely posts. I never really got into Uncle Tupelo until reading many posts by Lawrence Fan, especially about Anodyne. I bought that cd in 2001, listened to it once, didn't like, and it just collected dust.

A couple of months ago, after reading a discussion about what people considered Jay's best work, I got it out---now I understand what Mr. Lawrence was saying.
