Ditto...

Although I would like to see Jay do a version of The Ghost of Tom Joad...Rage style.

No Gob Iron songs have been played on this tour to the best of my knowledge. I know these guys are working hard playing an ungodly number of sequential nights, and I appreciate their efforts. That said, I agree with the prior post, a nugget here or there would be nice... no need to even dwell on the UT songs, just pull out a 'bonus' track from The Search other than Exurbia (which has been out for about 3 years already).

Not to insinuate Jay should emulate others at all, but I am duly impressed by Springsteen's Devils & Dust tour in which he played 150+ different songs throughout the tour.... It is a fan's dream.

Ya know, I just have to say that while I love the Son Volt live experience, I'm often left feeling that the show I just saw could have been made unforgettable instead of merely satisfying, had Jay simply thrown in some of the gems from his long and storied career. How cool would it be if Jay started off the show with a solo acoustic "Hard Times" from Gob Iron before the band comes out to rock. Or if he'd close the set with a Tupelo song besides Chickamagua (I love the song but jeez they have ALWAYS ended with this song every time I've seen 'em).

And it would be nice if they wouldn't play the same setlist night in and night out.

And it would be cool if Jay didn't rush through the set so much. I remember one time back during the Volt 1.0 days, I felt kind of put off when Jay launched into a song before Boquist had his fiddle ready and the poor guy struggled to catch up.

I'm not bitching, I'm just saying. Bruce Springsteen, Jay is not. Still can't wait to see Son Volt this Friday night in Philly!
