I could get behind that idea.

Sounds like the Sebastapol tour, minus the Son Volt 2.0. Jay didn't really seem to be into it when I saw him in Philly during this tour. Luckily Mark Spencer kept me interested, or else I literally would have fallen asleep.

I think Jay needs to put out a real country record and go on tour with a full country band... banjo, fiddle, steel guitar, etc. Now that would be sweet.

I think this was alluded to in an earlier post when the songwriters' tour wsa discussed with Lovett, Ely, Clark and Hiatt. I would pay some serious change to see a similar tour with Jay, G. Lourdis, Brian H. and Anders.

Neil's shows with Crazy Horse would typically open with a solo set.

If I were in charge, I would make Jay do "an evening with Jay Farrar" tour.

No opening act. Just a night where Jay does UT, SV1, SV2, and solo stuff.

He would draw bigger crowds and have a chance to turn some people who like the older stuff onto his new stuff.

He would also turn people onto his older stuff who are only into his newer stuff.

And for those of us who are into the whole spectrum: orgasm city!

It's the best thing he could do for so many reasons.
