It was 100 best living songwriters, not cock swallowers. You were in the top ten though.
wow and i've not written any songs and yet I made the top ten............shows how fickle these lists can be tho'
Yeah, this was here 2 years ago but except for the above quoted exchange, I like the current thread's responses much better.

IT WAS GLEN FRYE'S BAND!
Don't you see the similarities of Frye/Henley and Farrar/Tweedy?

Overall it's a pretty Impressive List of Talent...
Two Glaring Ommissions -
Robert Hunter - He should be top 25 at least - unless it is singer songwriters...
Brian Henneman...

Some things to keep in mind about this list:
1) The songs were not part of the list. I'd guess they were added by a blogger as links to examples of their songwriting.
2) The list is the result of an internet poll. I think it started back in Feb. or March. Not sure how many times you could vote.
3) Jay wasn't on the initial list. He got on the final list from write-ins, so it's not really surprizing he isn't higher. More surprizing he made it at all.

These discussion always look the sme. First a few shots at the list, then a general concensus that lists in general are bullshit. Then the obvious Jay/Jeff comparison - altho I'm not sure if that really was the case this time around
And so it goes..
