Is they your favorite
I realize that I have strayed off topic in my earlier post. The direct answer would: Love him but not all time favorite...because, obviously, that would mean staying power, tested over time:
All time would have to be Neil Young as I have continued to listen to, and follow, his work since Buffalo Springfield days.

The topic is almost overwhelming. I would have to break it down into decades or even 5-year increments.
latter 60's: Beatles, Steppenwolf
early 70's: Led Zeppelin, Mountain, GFR, Uriah Heep
latter 70's: Neil Young
early 80's: Dire Straits, Tom Waits

early 90's: Can't remember
latter 90's: Wilco
00's: Jay Farrar, Son Volt

it is almost imposible to name a fave band.....Neil Young and Crazy Horse would be up there and i guess if my life depended on making a choice that would be it........But I have been through so many evolutions in musical appreciation and with each evolution there was a new greatest band ever. Bands that have held that title in my life have been the Byrds, The Beachboys, The Buzzcocks, The Undertones, Loop, My Bloody Valentine, The Wedding Present, Mudhoney, Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Husker Du, Slint, Beastie Boys, Fugazi, Grandaddy, UT, Whisky Town, Bluemountain and Iron & Wine ................the list goes on. And I'm sure I'll pick up on something that someone on here reccomends and that could well be my next greatest band ever. I hope I never lose that excitement and enthusiasm for music.
