i am in shock momo and i finally agree about something yeah!!!Momo wrote:Beatles-Good Charlotte comparisons. Lord. Say it aint so sammyboy. I have yet to hear any artist from any age who made records that sound as good as the Beatles. Nothing sounds watered down in the final mix on Beatles tunes. Every sound is right up in your ear.

That's just about the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me!Hoops wrote:I'm a John.
Dev, there is no doubt in my mind that you are a 'John'. And I am happy to be your 'George'.
I do think all Johns are better with a George.
I love Paul, too (unlike Sam there), but I've always thought of Ringo as just being in the right place at the right time. I don't know - he just never did ring true with me musically, and his solo-stuff is deplorable. I'm sure there are folks who would disagree (?), but ... I loved Wings. My first "favorite song" as a kid was Band on the Run. I love Jet whooo-hooo-hoooo-whoooo-hooo-hooooo-whoo hooo hoooo!, JET! and so much other Wings stuff.
Went to the R&R Hall of Fame a couple of years back on a super metal quick-trip (went to see Tool with Meshuggah in Cleveland); and we stopped by the R&R Hall of Fame. They had a killer John Lennon exhibit. It was phenomenal. His piano was there, his glasses, his bed (the famous one). It was awesome.
George ... ah, man ... Here Comes the Sun is one of the most beautiful songs ever.. EVER. I also love Tax Man, which he wrote. And Something. Ugh. Gorgeous. I love George AND John AND Paul.
I seriously cannot grasp how folks don't love them, at least a little.

I don't hate the Beatles, per se...I just want to kill Paul McCartney...he's the worst. EVER.
George Harrison is cool. I dug his solo stuff. I still think the Beatles are the 60s equivilent of Good Charlotte. They looked dangerous with their long hair and shit, but were just panty-waists making easy consumed bubble gum pop for little girls to scream over.
