Wilco

Momo,
If you're referring to my post I never defended Wilco, I simply said not overrated because they aren't very popular and thats a good thing. Tweedy is not a fat cat rock star living in a mansion on MTV cribs. Hype is not a good thing it ruins good bands. Wilco does not have the machine behind it, I've been to four shows in big rock markets and they play oversized rooms of 300-400 or so. One or two reviews in Rolling Stone doesn't mean shit. Hell they put out some good stuff to get even that. Take Gram Parsons, he couldn't get arrested in L.A. in his day and now he's a huge influence on this alt.country thing. Hype and record sales don't mean someone is the next messiah. Just because the Beatles were the first ugly ass Brit pop group to land on this beautiful U.S.A. they received our undying love forever. Oh and don't get me started on Elvis or Ringo the human muppet. P.S. ILY

Amen Montana Bitteroot. I like them too. Just thought Being There blew outside of four songs, and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot wasnt that good. His lyrics were terrible dear diary nonsense. Songs too long and repetitive. Singing lacked any emotion (besides Reservations). All the songs stripped are dirges besides War and War and Kamera. Wilco has never gotten anything other than a blowjob from critics though. Which is why I say theyre overrated. They are a good band who have produced as much dung as anybody but have always gotten a free pass from the press. Anybody who would call the Beatles overrated and then take exception to Wilco being called same is delusional.
