Thanks for the kind words. It was nice to meet you. Sadly the Knitting Factory is closing.AO wrote:Just caught Jon's set at Knitting Factory in L.A.
Really enjoyed the show. Great writing Jon!
Check him out when he has a show booked near you.
I'll keep an eye out for any Knitting Factory dates you may have booked in the future.
As long as I still live around the corner, I'll be there:-)
Jon is super cool jayfarrar.net posters! Very nice dude!
Go see his show!

You'll have another chance in March. I've put in my request for Ireland for this and that time. One will probably pan out. March is more likely.
DC-
you're a good dude.
After a reread, this sounds like a smarmy, suck-up o-rama. My point was that I envy him because his work allows him to travel (my favorite thing in the world), especially to Europe AND since it isn't some huge entourage, it's the right kind of travel - low to the ground, through the back door and local-like. I'm betting that you still have some time to enjoy the places too.dcarter wrote:Jon, from my view, you have a kickass life. A truly successful musician. Oh well, in that case Mr. Hefner, the beers are on you.jon wrote:Not offended. We do fine. We do it all on our own financially. And we have a good booking agent, a good German road manager & start with good offers. We only go to places where we're asked to play & it pays for itself....then we book bonus shows around that.calexico wrote:How do you do it? Maybe a few days in Amsterdam again might go down well with Mrs. Cal.
and there are more UK dates coming.
I saw a hold for Glasgow.
Not sure how crazy we're gonna get.
If not maybe in March.

I rue missing your last Tampa area sojourn (though I did enjoy the Southern hemisphere). Any F-L-A in the near future? EDIT I just checked the Drag site and it says that you'll be in St. Pete in Nov. with The Revival Tour and G-ville for The Fest 8. I don't fancy $60 for the Fest weekend tix to see ya'll. Any chance you might add a Tampa/St. Pete date the next night?
Am I right that the Fest and Rev Tour won't be full sets? (Not that I won't go. The Revival Tour sounds like a helluva night).
P.S. Visitor's Band is a damned fine album.
