Like I said brother, it's all about opinions. I just don't find The Dead entertaining at all. Or Cream, Eric Clapton, T-Rex and a bunch of other reverential musical totems.
I don't care for any of those bands either. But man...pick up a copy of American Beauty. That's an amazing piece of work.
Listened to American Beauty for the first time this week. Also the first time I've ever listened to any Dead other than Touch of Grey.

It was OK. Blended right in with CSNY and the Byrds, both of whom I listen to on occasion but I don't LOVE em. I probably won't listen to it again. Thank goodness for the public library!

Nope, sorry...I mean some of his stuff is ok and that coda on Layla as used in Goodfellas is great but the majority, not my bag.

I have it and Workingman's Dead and Live Europe 72 but they never grabbed me at all. I mean they are ok, it's not like they are totally without merit like Muse or something....just not for me.

Even his first solo? With Delaney and Bonnie?

I must say I like a fair portion of SBS and the same applies to this album. I think Summerteeth and YHF was their zenith but they are still far from a barrel scraping nadir. That is only opinion of course. I can have a hundred Grateful Dead fans tell me how good they are but in my mind, and in my opinion, they are abysmal.

Hey, I liked Collins' song!

Apologies, countryfeedback. I noticed that I addressed you in a previous post as "countrywide"...as in the mortgage company. Some kind of slip.
No worries. I've been called worse.

It's off his solo album, "Hello I Must be Going"
