Exactly! You hit the nail on the head.

Of course, this will go over the heads of the many short-sighted people on this board (as some of the responses have proven already).
Then why doesn't Europe have a sky high murder rate like ours? They've got "loose" sexual mores, single motherhood isn't that big a deal and is fairly common, and by and large they're welfare states to a greater extent than we are.

As a noted internet gadfly is fond of saying: "Enlighten us, please."
I'm not going to bother. Most of you have opinions set in stone that cannot be changed even if they are based upon fiction.

Please perform a little research on illegitimacy and how our current welfare system encourages out-of-wedlock births and the vicious cycle of poverty and violence it creates.

While you're at it, research Europe's rising murder and violent crime rates despite stringent gun control.

Ahh yes now I remember one of the big reasons that I left the board late in January... The pride of Costa Mesa. I had a feeling that you would respond to mzkmm. Could you be more predictable? I'm enjoying the board too much to allow you to have an effect though. (Thanks again Fen for the PM welcome back). Best wishes on your life of bitterness. Augh, sorry for that . I guess you did have an effect. TinyE-the REAL RUP
Dang! I forgot that I am on Trellis's "ignore teh TinyE'" plan that Fenry told me about.

Nobody knows if there was sex outside of marriage, if the mother was, indeed, single or if anyone was on welfare. You're making assumptions. All we know is that two women and a child shared an apartment and four people are dead. Point to anything in that article that substantiates your assumptions.

Sure. No husband ever kills his wife. No child of a married couple ever gets slapped around and molested. Nope. Never happens. Rich people all have perfect homes. Right.

Man Arrested in Illinois Shooting Deaths
Thursday, October 06, 2005

BELLEVILLE, Ill. — A man was arrested early Thursday in connection with the fatal shootings of an infant and three adults in suburban St. Louis, police said.

Police found the bodies after neighbors called police Wednesday evening to report a burglary in progress.

Witnesses said someone had entered the basement apartment through a broken window, said Cmdr. Norman Venable of the St. Louis Major Case Squad. Police found 12-gauge shotgun casings inside the apartment and outside the building.

The victims were Jason Smith, 2 months, Nicole Willyard, 19, Mary Cawvey, 19, and Brandon Lobell, 23, Venable said.

The women and the baby lived in the apartment, but it was unclear which of them was the infant's mother, Venable said. The man who was arrested had a past "boyfriend-girlfriend relationship" with one of the women who was killed and is considered a suspect in the deaths, he said.
