Over 2000 square feet in various homes. You will need a hammer, a pencil, measuring tape, and a saw. I highly recommend a jigsaw and a circular or radial arm saw. If you use a radial arm saw make sure it is a 10 or 12 inch blade, as an 8 inch wont cut all the way across. You will also need the pry bar and tapping block for installation. There is a special coping saw with a movable handle that you use to saw around door trim to fit under for a nice look. This handsaw is around 15 bucks.

BTW, before you decide on buying. Laminate "wood" flooring is really hard and it kills your heels, ancles knees and back to walk on it. They also make your floors seem cold. OK for bedrooms etc. but for rooms you walk alot about in or where the kids play they are not recommended. At least not by me....

Come to think of it - since you said you'll be killing your knees this weekend - I guess you have already bought it and will start laying it out come saturday morning. Good luck. It is both easy and fun.

my lady wanted to do that but I talked her into ceramic tile.
it's great...change your mind.

we got this slate tile, mainly grey but blue-yellow-red...the whole rainbow in a "wide swing tremolo" kinda way.

I've been doing plent of home improvement lately at my girl's house we replaced some of the ceiling and light fixtures, still more ceiling and new fans to put up next weekend.

My mom and dad have bought alot of the flooring your talking about and I am supposed to help when it comes time, but I've never done it before, but it really does seam easy. Both my friends and my dads say its pretty simple, it does seem like it should be much at all since everything "locks" in place, I think the baseboards have something to do with keeping everything in place to. Let me know how it turns out, I know I will be doing the same in a month or so.

I have done this - its not hard, but fairly time consuming. Make sure you have a good electric saw - you need to cut the boards (even if they fit the length of the room perfectly) in order to get that nice "textured" look (ie you don't want the seams of the board lining up all the way across or it will look cheesy)

Enjoy! I love doing stuff like that! :)
