censorship rears its ugly head, again
Ah yes Montana. Diverse. Fox news, USA Today, Kathleen Turner, Quentin Tarantino, and Montana from the Jay Farrar board have all weighed in with praise. So we got two tabloid rags probably owned by the same parent company, a vodka-valium-addict pigwoman, a no-talent with elephantitis of the head, and an angry self-righteous liberal hick kid representing the wide swath of humanity.
Re: Bradbury
Sucks for Ray Bradbury that you can't copyright song/book/movie titlesHank Snow wrote:I read that the great Ray Bradbury is threatening to Sue Moore if the name of the film is not changed, Bradbury wrote Fahrenheit 451, from which Moore got his title.

I'll take any (or all) of those five.Hank Snow wrote: I really like Dosxx, Tecate, Bass, Newcastle, Fat Tire, and many more.
Great call on the Fat Tire ... I wish it were more available here on the East Side!

Beer
Hey what happened to Smoke's idea of getting together to Fahrenheit 451 and then having some beer and a civil discussion about it? It is not fair to throw that out there and not follow through. Actually maybe it would be better to have a LOT of beer then watch the movie.
I really like Dosxx, Tecate, Bass, Newcastle, Fat Tire, and many more.
Is anyone on the board from Minneapolis? Have you even been to Sherlock's Home in Minnetonka? Is it still open? I know it closed temporarily, but then was supposed to reopen. Anyone? Anyone? Their Bishop's Bitter is the best beer on earth.
Des Moines used to have a theater that served beer and food during the movie. I think it was in Clive.
Let's work on this plan!!!

Re: Love To You
Sounds like Mark is doin the pickin'.Hank Snow wrote:Listening to it now. Pretty weird, pretty cool. Vastly different than any of the closers with Canyon, yet still a big loud long crazy cover finale. I like it.
Is Mark doing the finger picking or Jay?
Great sound. I hope to catch he and Mark in the south sometime this summer.
Do I like it? As a performance it sounds like a great hypno-tune. As a song without sight tho, not so much.

Hey Montana , name calling is what left wingers resort to when they cannot prove a point.Michael Moore is like all lefties who, when faced with a tough decision basically wet their pants. It is easy to insult someone on a message board.I do not agree with Jay's politics ,but I love his music , I can seperate the two .It does not look like you can ,lighten up.

Straightface was awesome - pre-solo stuff really makes the show and I say that as someone who loves the the last two (oh yeah, make that three) albums as much as everything else. When you hear Driving the View and Straightface you realize how many great tunes he could pull out. There are sooooo many unplayed gems! Imagine the crowd if he pulled out High Water. They'd be fucking floored.
I know some are going to say "let Jay do his thing and don't complain" so i'm saying for the record, Jay's done alright by me so far so I'm not being critical of his choices, I'm just being a fan in need of certain fixes (bastard didn't play Left a Slide).
