That was Johnny Cash, not the Tull. Easy mistake to make though.

SV on a "classic rock" radio station?
Not a chance.
I've come across some classic rock stations already playing Nirvana or Pearl Jam and while they're good examples of a local rock scene breaking big in the mainstream, you won't hear those stations play Replacements (maybe something from Pleased To Meet Me) or Husker Du or Soul Asylum (unless it's "Runaway Train").

Heck, those stations will even play the country songs by the Stones but they won't play Gram Parsons.

very true...except i've heard gram's version of wild horses on a couple of stations every blue moon or so...it is the far superior version too by the way

Saw them way back during the Thick As A Brick tour. Ian Anderson was/is awesome.
.i saw Tull in pittsburgh 1977 or 1978, someone through a bottle onstage, Anderson pointed the guy out and invited everyone to go out to the parking lot to watch him,(anderson) kick this guys ass. i didn't know a guy holding a flute could be so tough.

I love me some Steely Dan. I'm kind of a guitar geek and they would always have shit-hot guitar players on their records. I really enjoy Donald Fagens voice and lyrics as well. Probably all around favorite has got to be Led Zepplin, or Rolling Stones. I like a lot of classic rock, well know and obscure. Maybe the ONLY music I wouldnt enjoy would be Styx, REO Speedwagon

I probably should have gotten into classic rock in a big way when I was in my teens but I guess I got into classic jazz instead  I do like the Stones,Zeppelin,The Who,Hendrix,CCR,Jethro Tull,Genesis(Gabriel era)etc. I`m not one to spend alot of time on it but once in awhile I`ll throw some on.
Most favorite?Tim Buckley was never a classic rock station staple and his son Jeff is more well known but damn I love Tim`s records from the late `60s.Folk with jazz influences with one of the best male voices.I also like alot of brit folk rock like Fairport Convention,Incredible String Band,Steeleye Span,Sandy Denny,Richard And Linda Thompson, etc. They might not have had any hits but they`re from the same era as the Stones and The Who so they count :)

Unless some freak of nature happens and he starts selling buckets of records it ain't gonna happen. You'll probably hear Nickelback though.
