The Best of West
REO
Actually before they went all sissified in the early 80s REO was a great Rock band and Doughty's keyboards (think Roll With The Changes) are great as well. They didn't spark an entire movement in rock-n-roll, but the school should be proud of him. Maybe there is like a certain amount of time that has to pass before they can honor UT.

Actually, the article says the cut off date is 1983. In other words, I don't think they graduated early enough to make this first round. Anyway, I doubt they'd be too upset. Rinky dink hall of fame. Now the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame would be a different story.

The Best of West
So I pick up the Belleville News Democrat this morning and on the front page is the "Best of West", or a new Wall of Fame they are putting up at Belleville West High School, which happens to be the alma mater of Jay, Jeff and Mike. Did they make it? No, sorry to say. But one musician that did is Neal Doughty, keyboardist for REO Speedwagon. A sad commentary on our community.
