I saw that tour. That was a hella guitar extravaganza for sure. I’m more of a Beck guy than a SRV guy but when Stevie Ray came out and threw down Going Down with Beck it was monstrous. Great gig and the only chance I ever got to catch SRV – glad I went.

Too funny !Almost every Bottle Rockets show, from 1993-2002.
Too drunk to remember them.
Brian
Q: How could you play when your soooo drunk? I mean, Dont you just get dehydrated, fatigued and feel like falling off the stage?
I often compare playing hammered to playing with oven mitts on. I am a piano player and thats a hard instrument to play when your ripped. But, it's so fun trying

I have a 3-6 beer window on stage.

I missed the last time Jay came to the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC due to little gas money....
I wish I'd seen the original Black Crowes line-up around 96-97.....
And, since it's on my mind, I'm kicking myself for not asking off work to see Richard Buckner and Anders Parker at the Grey Eagle in Asheville a couple weeks back.....

I'm kind of bummed I missed CVB opening for ModestMouse last night at the Orpheum and
Luna at Shank Hall,
Pavement @ Metro,
The Heartless Bastards @ HighNoon,
The Dream Syndicate when I was a wee child,
I regret that I missed DBT/Centro-matic at the HighNoonSaloon last October.
I, like many of you, regret not getting to MississippiNights in early May 1994.
I could go on... but won't

Buffalo Tom was the first band I ever saw in a 21+ bar. Freshman year at UW, one of those crazy February Days where it broke 60 degrees. After an amazing day of biking, hacking, and puffing, I made my way down to the show, praying for a miracle that I'd get in. They played the late great O'Cayz corral, and somehow I got in even though I looked like I was sixteen. I just had to pay the lady working the door $5 extra bucks and I was in. It was a great show, birdbrain era. Afterwards my buddy and I got to talk to Bill Janovitz a little bit. He was really cool, and very supportive of our underage effort to go see his band. What a great band. Bill's newest album is really good, as well. I'm going to pop in that first disc when I get home, and listen to impossible, to get both my buffalo tom and J mascis fix on.

hey - nice to hear some props for "let me come over". i too remember my life changing the moment i got ahold of that album. it's definitely on my top five desert island list most of the time.
buffalo tom is one band i never was able to see live. i don't think they ever played the midwest too much, which is too bad......

A soundgarden/afghan whigs/bullet lavolta show back in the fall of '89. Blew it off to go on a date. I'm sitting in a theater watching parenthood, bored out of my mind, wishing I was watching Greg Dulli's misanthropy and Chris Cornell's hairfarming instead of being in a mall multiplex realizing this girl I've had a crush on for a while is actually a wicked combination of boring and judgmental.

Dinosaur Jr at the WAG - which, for folks from Worcester, MA was THE place to see live shows in the late 80's and early 90's - it held about 300 people and J Mascis was playing there as a "practice" show before going out on the Green Mind tour. My girlfriend was having a drama episode so I hung out with her.
Buffalo Tom at the WAG - hadn't heard them yet, but a month after the show, a friend hooked me up with "Let Me Come Over" and my life changed at that moment.
Bob Mould at Clark University. This was just plum fricking idiotic of me. He was playing a solo acoustic show to a group of about 150. I knew better than to miss that.
Whiskeytown and Danielle Howell - Neurolux in Boise. Had I gotten there a half an hour earlier, I'd have gotten in.
Oh yeah - and the 1987 Monster's of Rock festival - Van Halen headlined, but I would have given anything to see the opening band - a very young METALLICA. I had finals the next day so my mom wouldn't let me go. *sniff*
Now pardon me while I go punch myself in the face.
