I also attended the show at the Blue Highways Festival and it was absolutely GREAT !! Well, it was the first tme I've seen Son Volt live and I was so looking forward to it. I travelled all the way from Germany just to see them and it was worth it !
I can't give you a setlist because I was too excited, sorry. But they played all of my favorite songs and time went by too fast. I was standing left in front of the stage and Jay looked a bit tired, he didn't talk that much but it was okay, I really enjoyed the show !!
Sound was perfect, crowd was pretty cool, Jay and the band sounded perfect together and my biggest wish was it would never end !
But time was flying.......well, I could have listened a hundred hours more, I really LOVED it and I'm sure everybody who also attended this show agrees with me.
Greetings from Germany :D
Greetings to Wendy....just a few steps away from me at the show 8)

Next time Son Volt is coming to Europe I'll be the first to get tickets......
See you all there !!

Where are you from??Ray

Blue Highways concert yesterday..

Oh so sorry it's over: Blue Highways in Utrecht, The Netherlands yesterday..

So someone posted they wanted to hear about the European gigs! Let's see if i can give you a short description of Saturday the 23d.

I already saw the band (though I'd no idea it was them) relaxing by their bus at the beginning of the festivalday, while me and my friend were having lunch on the stairs just a few feet away. It was a beautiful day, filled with sunshine, in this usually so so rainy Holland..
When the band got on (a few hours later, I guess around seven) I had a great standingplace on the right side infront of the stage, just a little higher where i could see &hear it all. Though most of the songs were, I thought, a little tame/routinely (?), they seemed to really get started at the last two songs..
All the musicians were very focussed on their own playing, but blended together wile seemingly not being aware of the others..
I can't tell you a precise setlist or anything, but that I'm writing this here says alot about the creativity, flow and uniqueness I saw in them yesterday!

Wendy
