I might add some extra info about me geetars. Bernaise got her name not because I loved playing her or anything. But I got it for a special semi-legal import price since I bought it from a friend's friend. Anyway when I went to pick it up, the guy who sold me the guitar looked exacly like Gary Rossington, and since my guitar playing friend (who I might add is awesome at guitar playing) asked me if I had a name for it, I said Bernaise (which of course is a white-sauce used for beef among other things, don't know if they use the same name in the US) instead of Berneice - Rossington's Les Paul (funny thing, I watched the grammy's yesterday, and Gary used Berneice instead of his SG, probably because they played some other songs as well I figure) since I'm a HUGE Skynyrd fan, skynyrd's up there with Jay, SRV, JJ Cale, The Boss, Manics, and Allman Brothers for me. So the Les Paul (the cheap MORGAN Les Paul) is called Berneice, the Crafter MD-42 aka Cheap Corean Guitar (which is the one I play 99% of the time) doesn't have a name yet, I've had it for three years, getting a bit worn, will end up in a Willie Nelson style guitar in the end the way I'm treating it. And then it's my first guitar, which is located somewhere in the basement, unplayed for 17 years, it's a small guitar, and if I ever aquire some skills in it, I'm gonna fix it sometime. And then there's the guitar that was my grandfather's, and my childhood guitar, but my granddad gave it away to my cousin in England who has never played it    It's there rotting away in its case, doing nothing. I suspect Damon Albarn have played this several times, but can't get anyone to verify it. I sometimes ask my aunt about it, and she only tells me that Mr. All Bran was all over the place, and that it was a long time ago. It's also hopeless to mention the name Mark Spencer in her presence, as she'll likely be on her way to Mark's & Spencer's because she suddenly had this notion she should buy some extra cereal for breakfast :!:

Dear Maura:

You should name her: Mumrikkens Fristelse or Lille Mys Fristelse (depending on which person from the Mumidal whom nicked it)

I'll be willing to bet maura tierney is from England.

"Nicked" is the english way of saying "Stolen"

Yep, I'm English.
And yep, I did mean that my acoustic got stolen.
Maybe I could name her anyway, you know, so she's got a name on her tombstone.
I'll throw it open to the Jay messageboarders.
Any suggestions as to what I should call my deceased (female) acoustic?

(Any suggestions referring to 'teh buttsex' will NOT be considered).

If anyone wants to buy a Gibson Les Paul Studio, I have one for sale - I want a Strat and I just can't go through the pain of being raped by the used instrument blue book nazis at the local rock shop. Seriously though - if anyone wants to buy a good playing LP Studio with a few dings, PM me. It was neither owned by Jay Farrar or Brian Henneman, but is valuable nonetheless... :)

Anyway - I have to go with mccarlton - it's "the Paul", "the Taylor", or "the mando"... I named my son when he was born, but he still goes by "the boy"...

:)

I'd suggest Nick or Nicolette for the acoustic, depending on its sexual identity.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who doesn't name my guitars. Especially my Airline, I can't imagine coming up with a better name than THE Airline.
