All 22 tracks to be released on iTunes

If this bonus tracks stuff on itunes works like most of them, this really sucks....and here is why:

1. Normally, in order to get the bonus stuff on itunes, you have to buy the complete album....not to mention that itunes is a "lossy" format. Unless something changes, there won't be a pure copy of the unreleased songs available.

2. In order to get the bonus EP from Best Buy, you have to buy the complete CD....

Basically, the hardcore fans are getting shafted and forced to buy both...one of which isn't even a "true" audio version.

I understand that Son Volt will make more money by doing it the iTunes way, but if they were going to make a bonus disk anyway, why not just do the unreleased tracks as the bonus disk???

Yeah. Let me add to the confusion. How about a simple "web site only order" for a single or double CD with all 22 tracks. In my opinion, the majority of us die-hards want [u][b]ONE[/b][/u] real, shrink-wrapped, official CD to put our hands on. I bet if you poll all of the members of this message board, close to 100% would respond that they read every word of the liner notes. iTunes is fine, but I for one do not want this to be the only way I can get all of the "exclusive" tracks from a [b]single purchase[/b]. Not forever, just for now. JF is the man, but I hate to think that if I want all of the exclusive tracks on officially released CDs, I have to buy multiple copies from multiple vendors (to get all of the extra material). That being said, after reading today's newsletter, I'm still not certain if this is the case.

Can anyone make heads or tails of this? Does that mean if you get the CD at Best Buy you get one 3 track EP or BOTH 3 track EP's... do we have to pick from the 3 tracks or will all 6 be included on the Itunes version... Will the itunes be availbale track by track so I can buy the CD then add the extra songs... (I like having liner notes)
