Sure is. The Hold Steady has such a unique style, and it's kinda weird, but once you get it, it's great, and it doesn't wear think like you'd think it would.

All their albums are great. I love the recurring cast of characters, too.
Huh, I never thought much about the characters recurring in their songs. Charlemagne comes to mind. What else you got?
Holly and Gideon also pop up here and there.

she still looks incredible.
but she don't look like the same girl we met.
on that first night.

she was golden with barlight and beer.
she slept like she'd never been scared.

What a great lyric.

I noticed this a bit from the one CD i own. It seems they have a fondness for their cousins and there was something else that was repeated that I cant think of right now. What CD should I get next of theirs? I've heard the one before their latest and it seemed pretty good.

Just got into this band a couple months ago. Absolutely love their latest album. Looking forward to getting something else by these guys. Have been dying to see these guys play in St. Louis. Of course the one time they come here I'll be out of town. Being in Vegas will help take some of the sting away but I'd love to see them live.
