The Chicks are mainstream country, but I think they are a step in the right direction. They at least co-write their songs and play their own instruments. Plus, you don't see them hawking pick-up trucks on television. I think they are way better than 99% of the crap that comes out of Nashville these days.

Not that I care or anything, but after all that talk about the Dixie Chicks the other day, turns out their album debuted at #1 with over 525,000 copies sold.
