No way Farrar is going to help you get in her pants. Her mind, maybe. But not her pants.

IMHO Jay's music is typically too real for teh chicks.

With some exceptions, of course.

Windfall
Slate
Tear Stained Eye

That'll do it for a broad, guaranteed. Then work her into "the finer points".

For a chick I would go with the following... Actually, I made a CD for my cousing recently and I put all these songs on there for her. All are great for first time listeners who are likely a bit fickle. If I HAD to pick all 3 for a random chick they would be the ones with the (*)

Windfall
Tulsa County*
Still Be Around
Greenwich Time(SSBL)
Moonshiner Live
Back Into Your World
Tear Stained Eye*
Slate
Give Back The Keys
Out of The Picture
World Through A Windshield
True To Life
Rex's Blues
California*
Creosote

Damn Shame. That song is pretty catchy, live or on that EP.

I'd go with Tear Stained Eye, Windfall, and Left a Slide if I were you Hank.

Hank,

What does she listen to ??? Rock..Rock out..country..tear stained..or ..does she get off on liquid guitar..the the Mark Spencer stuff...
Jay's stuff for most middleo'road listeners takes some time..For example the gal that I sing with( she really does most of the singing) burned her the SV 2nd disk and she did'nt really take in the whole thing..........however, burn't her a mix disk with Rex's Blues..when it was available only in the bootleg deal and she loved..it was like..who was that guy...like I gave you a whole disk of the sh*t. Anyhey, she really groove on the stuff, now. Hippy chicks...I love'em..

For a woman, you need some love songs:
Still be around
Hanging on to you

Radio Friendly:
Drown
Feed Kill Chain

Just plain goodness:
Windfall
TSE

And if it matters, my wife for some reason dug the live version of Fool King's Crown

I've never met a sweet little lady that wasn't captured by the dark goodness of Ten Second News.

That song has been the claw-hook of doom, causing FUTILE ATTEMPTS AT RESISTANCE in many a female and male alike!!

I say with confidence that no girl with any goddamn sense can turn her heart away from that song. It haunts and begs re-listening. And if she doesn't like it ... well, you know what to do.
