The feeling I get is this is a follow on from the Canyon tour/cd/dvd experience. Jay has had his fill of the solo/live duo situation and basically
wants to "Kick Out The F***ing Jams" like he used to in those heady days of his (and ours!) youth.
More power to him says I.
PS I'm going to see Richmond Fontaine later on today in this fine old town of Edinburgh : ah, life, great isn't it?

I agree. I had a feeling something would happen after recording 'Sometimes'. I read the announcement at work and threw my arms in the air like my favorite team just scored a touchdown. Everyone in the office gave me funny looks, so I yelled out in cliche, "They're gettin' the band back together...MAN!

Son Volt - New Songs
I was reading an article somewhere where Jay says he's been doing a lot of writing. The article was pre SonVolt announcement, but it sounded like he was having a lot of fun doing it. It makes you wonder what kind of twist or turn his music will take now. I can't wait to here what Son Volt will put out.
