No way! Have you heard "Easy Way Out" or "Somebody that I used to know"?
I don't even know the names of what I've heard, just didn't get into it. I will try again sometime.

I was also there. Regardless of the band, you can't beat the price.
word, whoever books the bands for the arts festival has done an outstanding job. Even though the dbt are not my cup of tea, they did rock, and put on a show. I can't recall other acts in the past, other than the cowboy junkies, but the arts festival will take some risks and provide a stage and a large audience for some new or lesser known acts.
a few years ago, they had Sonic Youth on a Friday, and Wilco on a Saturday. They have also had Alejandro Escavedo, Martin Sexton, Maceo Parker, Iguanas, Janis Ian, Cowboy Junkies, James McMurtry, Aimee Mann, Dr. John, Indigo Girls...every year its a great group and all free.

VC is a different planet. Don't compare it to this board.

Yawn.

I don't get Bright Eyes.
Love Wilco, Kicking Television is the one of the best of last year.

Conor Oberst should go hunting with Cheney.

bonnie raitt?, cheryl crow, eric clapton, any "southern rock" that is not the allman brothers covers the classic bands that are still around. i tried to get into the drive by truckers, even saw them at the three rivers arts festival, but i can't do it.

I have to admit, Wilco does nothing for me either. I think Tweedy's voice is so erratic, sometimes it sounds great, other times my dog sounds better. I'll skip a lot of his songs on the first 2 UT discs also. I've really tried to like them but other than the first two and the Mermaid Ave stuff, I just don't get it. Then I heard that you have to hear them live...still don't get it. I think KT is mediocre. The songs are good but there is just too much going on, too much noise.

I think just the opposite on Wilco, they just keep getting better. While YHF and Summerteeth are my faves, AGIB is weak, but live these days they are absolutely brilliant.

Same with Modest Mouse, I just can't get enough of them, love them.

Most of the others mentioned I agree with.

Another one that makes me vomit is Coldplay. God I hate Coldplay.

I absolutely vomit then choke it back when i hear Nickelback...god that music is terrible.

A lot of "classic" rock is making me ill nowadays too: ZZtop etc..

Any of that new pop teen punk crap is putrid as well. I just don't know where the music is going these days. I watched the grammys and didn't even care about any of the artiists...that's sad.

I feel you guys on Wilco too, great first few albums and it transformed into Slowville...they remind me of an alt country pink floyd now or something. I would still like to hang with tweedy though.

My Morning Jacket - maybe its an aquired taste.

Franz Ferdinand - just atrocious stuff.

Bright Eyes - sad sorry pathetic

Modest Mouse - blah, yawn

Neil Young - when he's good, he's amazing... when he's not, he's boring. I will catch slack for this statement and I am prepared. Let me say, I like Neil Young a lot, but he's not as infallible as people make him out.
