I disagree with the "Toad" comment. I was at the show and could barley hear Butler over the din of frat boys in the back... I was glad that he told them to "quiet down;" they needed it!
It's funny, when we saw Brandon in Tallahassee he was nothing but nice. Great set, great comments. he did mention the rude audience in New Orleans the previous show. Must just be the audience that gets him riled.
I really enjoyed his set and that album he has out, though I miss the combo of his weird little voice and Joe Winkle's guitar sounds. Canyon was pretty cool.

You can ask them all you want but there's no sense in getting rude like Brandon did. That only make you look just as bad as they do. Anyone else feel me on that?
He did the same thing in Memphis.. except he came straight out and told people to shut up. He also tried to be witty (in a condescending way) between songs. He's a toad and needs to find a day job.
I know it's a little late but I had a hell of a time at the show. Jay and Mark both blew my mind as they have so many times over the years. I do have one gripe *please don't flame me for this* Brandon Butler kind of pissed me off. I thought it was a typically great Farrar show, though the accoustics at Echo Lounge are pretty horrible. The smallness of the venue made up for that, though. Songs I remember Farrar playing:
Doesn't Have to Be This Way
Greenwich Time
6 String Belief (this song really grows on me)
Driving the View
Tear Stained Eye
Feed Kill Chain
Feel Free
Vitamins
Voodoo Candle
I would really like to see Farrar play with a full band, such as in the DVD from SSBL. I've seen him five times on his own, each time with only Mark Spencer accompanying him. I saw Son Volt a couple of times when they opened for John Mellenkamp on his tour, and the full band really gives Farrar much more versatility. But accoustic Farrar still is one of the great live experiences. Just wishful thinking.
Yep, hell of a show. Spencer was absolutely amazing. I could not have been more impressed with his playing. Jay was, of course, great as well. Very impressive overall as the Echo Lounge is a pretty intimate place to see a band.
As for the setlist, he also played a ton of stuff from Sebastopol. I did not right it down and my memory is a little hazy, but I believe he also played:
Damn Shame
Voodoo Candle
Feel Free
Vitamins
Drain
Feed kill chain
and plenty of others...
I was unable to attend the show and it's absolute that I would have liked to have heard straightfaced, among others. I thought it would not be as good since I am lost to any new Farrar material, but soaking up that heavenly goodness with a crowd would have been like sunbeam to my ear loafs.
