Anybody else get the sense that Dave doesn't really thoroughly enjoy the Son Volt scene? Just wondered if I'm the only one who senses that he's growing tired of the small(er) crowds, poor choices of venues in which they're being booked(I totally agree with him), the bs of life on the road...

Really like the instrumentation on this one...accordian, lap / pedal steels; the harmonies are really up in the mix....nice track arrangement that makes it flow... I think it's a solid effort.

Texas, I'm sorry, I should've said "the only guitar sound he makes thru the whole thing is of the tonal quality of that weird, high-fret vibrato and/or the Impossible Germany sound..." I can't even remember a solo that jumped out...

No I didn't take it as criticism...I wish I could've said something positive... For what it's worth, I'm sure alot of people will love it...but I'll say this, it's their worst effort ever.... Echoing the sentiment of a good deal of purists who like things to remain the same, I find myself wishing an...

I can tell you, DCarter, that I really WANTED to like it...was looking forward to hearing what they came up with...unfortunately, for all their musicianship and talent, they've basically trotted out the same stuff...maybe it's the song writing that's causing Nels and Glenn to revert back to the same...

Wilco (the album)

I heard the album and it's godawful...just a terrible rehash of the same ol' same ol'....Nels Cline's noodling is redundant, for all the skill Kotche has, he uses the same drumming...I can't even call it beats because there is no tempo to the songs that last more than 8 bars...the songs are terrible...

Thanks...those are the two songs I CAN find on You Tube, and maybe I'm thinking of a different tribute show, but those songs aren't the ones I'm thinking of...if memory serves he was wearing what I can only describe as a blue Nudie suit???? Either way, thanks...maybe I just dreamt it... :)

Springsteen floor tickets for NJ show(s)?

Does anybody have connections that could reach out to to get 4 floor tickets for any/all of the Bruce dates at East Rutherford, July 27, 28 or 31st? Much obliged.

I thought MMJ killed on SNL last night...just a terrific set of performances...at first the second song didn't click with me, but by the end of the first verse, they had me...I love their guitar sound...and that drummer's in the pocket, man....Evil Urges guitar solos are just killer.

Dude, that is a great song...I, too, wonder what the lyric is that is actually being sung...the Black Crowes do a completely KILLER version of that song and Chris and Co. are clearly not saying "Brazos." At least in the BC version, it almost sounds like "horizon" but I can't be sure, obviously, or I...

How'd they do that?

I'm intrigued by the pictures of Jeff playing in somebody's living room...how does one get Jeff Tweedy playing guitar in your house? Contest? Mucho $$$? Just wondering. Do you think Jay would play on my patio for free beer and burgers?
