He's up to somethin...
I'm Facebook friends with Auset Sarno, who is married to Brad Sarno, who does a lot of mastering in St. Louis. Now, I'm not one to gossip, but SHE SAID that Jay was there getting some work done. So he's working on something, and since mastering is the last step in the audio production, surely there ...

Chrystal was filmed in Arkansas, and they put a call for extras in the local papers. I was able to be part of the crowd in the fight scene. Pretty cool. I like the film - I may be biased, of course. When McKinnon and Billy Bob were filming the fight scene, Thornton actually made contact (he wasn't ...

Attn Gearheads - Jay's pedal steel preamp
A friend of mine in St. Louis, Brad Sarno, makes this preamp for pedal steel guitar. Jay uses one when he plays pedal steel with Colonel Ford, and Mark Spencer may have worked it into his rig already, not sure about that. I use one as a preamp for my acoustic guitar and love what it does for the ton...

Death penalty songs?
I need suggestions for a couple of songs to work up related to the death penalty. I figured this noble assemblage could come up with some good ones. What are the favorites?

Jay in West Plains MO this Friday, of all places
This is a free show. Anybody from this board gonna try to make it? If so, consider getting there in time for Big Smith's set at 5:00. I have a vested interest, I'll be the cat with the guitar. Come say hi.

Need a Farrar quote for a wedding
Hey all, I'm officiating at a wedding, which is funny, but the groom is a huge Farrar fan. I'm looking for a lyric passage that would be good for the ceremony. I'd ask the groom, but I'd like for it to be a surprise. I fully expect the usual hilarity to ensue with the responses, but just so you know...

"Yeah, Acoustic Jet Ear, we lost a good one there, he sure could write 'em."
C'mon friends, no love for this guy? I may need to turn some Farrar fans on to some Bobby Charles - I would consider it a pleasure and a solemn duty.
