Sebastopol -- is a must have!
Sebastopol must be highly underrated! or painfully over-looked? I found it to be a great set of studio tracks. a definite must have for all Jay fans old and new hearing some of the songs live gave them new life that is sometimes missed on the studio versions. BUT the studio versions stand on their o...

uhh...... I think it is pretty common for people to refer to their depression with the fact that they can release that enegy through a voodoo candle. I have one too, but not really. it's just a thought for me. one of my past girlfriends was really into black. an empty room with one candle in the cen...
These Jay vs Jeff threads are lame, who ever starts these must still be in jr. high. Opinions especially musical opinions are very individual and this crap is starting to be even more stupid than the Beatles and Stones arguments that seem to never stop as well.
considerin...

but i think you need to get your facts straight about Kerry. I doubt he's worked for anything he's had. He's a Yale Skull and Bones richie kid just like Bush.
the main difference is that Kerry was brought up to work as a team and Bush tries to be the lone cowboy. history will tell the sick t...

I have really enjoyed Jay's work a lot more than I have Jeff's. Jay has more depth in his style of play and lyric. everything has been cool! while Jeff has a huge tendancy to sound scripted and puppeteered. even if it's his own hell. I voted for Jay - all albums with his design on it come out in fly...

Re: Virgin UT/SV/Wilco/JF listener
Hey, I got a friend who has never heard any UT/SV/Wilco/JF. I'm going to introduce him but im not sure where to start. ......
I'd go straight for the new UT Anthology for starters. It is one of the best greatest hits packages I have ever heard. really spreading it out to the...

thanks for the information! I have picked up 'Trace" and it is another perfect collection of nicely articulated songs - a must have! I did see on Amazon where it was supposedly the best out of all the solo Jay and Son Volt. Is it really that great that no other Jay album could do better? I found SS&...

New Jay Farrar Stone Steel Bright Lights gets 5 stars!
as an un-biased reviewer of the new live Jay I feel obliged to comment Stone Steel Bright Lights is excellent! I picked this up as soon as it came out and never really hearing Jay solo before I was amazed. Jay sounds great live! The entire album is flawless! I can't find a bad song on it! everytime ...
