Best of the year
I was disappointed in the new Craig Finn. I really liked "Clear Heart Full Eyes" but the songs on the new album are just not very good. Between this and the last Hold Steady album I wonder if Finn is running out of lyrical ideas. I wonder if the Hold Steady will return. My favorite album was Ryan Ad...

The missing track from the live show on "Trace".
According to setlist fm the song "Shake Some Action" is also from the same show. I guess royalty payments must have been too high to include it on this release. I know I've mentioned this before but I really wish Jay/management would post live shows from previous years for purchase as downloads. I'd...

Tinnitus is fun.....
....especially when you're trying to sleep. Who else has it and to what degree??? I consider my case mild to severe. But, as I always say, THE MUSIC WAS WORTH IT!

As much as I love "Artifacts" and "1999"
I wish that Jay would post full shows like Wilco does for purchase. I'd gladly pay for full shows in a minute.

I was listening to the official Live 1999 the other day and thinking the same thing. For my money SV 1 were the only ones who came close to that CH sound, largely due to Mike Heidorn's drumming and Dave's Les Paul. SV 2, even during it's original rocking lineup, did not have that spark and rough ed...

Happy New Year Guys
I hope everyone has a great New Year filled with lots of Alt Country, if that even exists anymore, or Rock n Roll.

Boquist version of SV/Crazy Horse
Man, do I wish Jay would bring back these guys. I was listening to the Nashville 98 bootleg and just wow! I came up with a name for the hybrid of Son Volt and Crazy Horse because that incarnation reminds me of something like that. Crazy Volt or Son Horse. Just amazing. God do I wish Jay would bring ...

Now we're all friends here and I don't want to step on anyone's toes or offend anyone but I went to the show at the Myerhoff in Baltimore on Monday night and it was quite impressive. Tweedy came out and didn't say a word and launched into a song called "Down From Above" which was fantastic!! The nex...
