I think the supreme irony is that GW trusts somebody elses centralized state owned services and not his own.

Maus by Art Spiegelman. Pretty damn cool. And not cool. Basically its the story of Art's father(a Polish Jew) right before WWll and surviving the "camps". The characters in the story are anthropomorphic animals, Jews are mice, Germans are cats, Poles are pigs, etc. It sounds goofy but its pretty int...

a fence post? :)
Well, no. Its kind of an ergonomically shaped bar. Its not just a cylinder. Easier to pickup and hold. The're very cool. Hey also if you google "learning lap steel" you'll get some worthwhile hits it seems.

Yeah, right now I'm just playing in open G and I'm using a chrome slide - not worn on my finger, but held down by my index finger while I dull the strings behind the slide with my other fingers. I'm having fun with what I'm doing, but I'd like to maybe see a scale chart or something so I know where...

The problem I always have with it is if I dont play it very much, my intonation gets off. Sometimes if you change tunings it'll kind of open its own doors, know what I mean? I remember I was using this tuning I thought was cool but everything I played sounded like Hank Williams. Now this wasnt bad, ...

I like how it seems people are generally willing to support an artist if they’re not already sitting on giant stacks of cash , but unwilling to if they are doing well and are very successful. I’m not any less inclined to buy U2 records than when I bought Boy, October , or War. I’m no less inclined ...

Hmm.. I cant think of anything on the internet, but I could give you some pointers. I do dabble a little myself. I think the thing that helped me initially is that I can play a little bottleneck slide guitar. Do you play slide at all? The other thing with lap steel is that there is a MYRIAD of tunin...

Well, no I wasnt trying to prove any point really. The fact that Johnny Horton has a mixed race daughter really in the scheme of things doesnt mean anything. As much as people make of it, miscegnation is a fine old American tradition. I'm not defending circumstances under wich it may have occured I'...

I can hear it in my head as I write this. Paul Mcartneys opening notes in the guitar break from "Good Morning". Crap there are many many many. This was the first thing I thought of. I'll have to revisit this thread!

I was once in band that had the dubious honor of opening for DAC. The entire stage was all done up in fake american indian style stuff. You know dream catchers, cow skull, that sort of thing. His badn didnt have a drunmer. So therefore we could'nt use a drummer. His people were serious about this to...

Isnt it a pity. George Harrison. Kind of a hippie quiet storm jam, but I love it. Its long, too! On a slightly related topic, I've got this live Derek and the Dominoes cd. There's a really frenzied version of "Why Does Love Got To Be So Bad "on it thats pretty cool. They are jammin'! Easily Eric Cla...

Worst "Classic Rock"

Ok. What CANT you stand. Whats the classic rock stuff that makes you want to punch out your eardrums and then slit your wrists? For me its got to be Styx. Never ever could stand them. For their semi-prog rock stance, I always thought there was something just not right about them. All the sonic bomba...

I love me some Steely Dan. I'm kind of a guitar geek and they would always have shit-hot guitar players on their records. I really enjoy Donald Fagens voice and lyrics as well. Probably all around favorite has got to be Led Zepplin, or Rolling Stones. I like a lot of classic rock, well know and obsc...
