Impossible to choose between Avett Brother's new one "I, and Love, and You"..."American Central" and "One Fast Move".

They are definitely the best albums of the year....

Will Jay & Ben be doing late night show to promote the C

I hope so... The album is awesome and the country needs to be made aware of it's existance. Plus, I would love to see a performance myself. And I know they sure as hell aren't coming to SC.

Slobberbone is there... Ehh, Old 97's isn't one of my faves... Nor do I think there's anything country about them.

My "Must Have" Albums for the world....

A poster on a sports board I frequent asked for alt-country/americana album recommendations.. And of course, I got carried away and ticked off about 232 albums. So I figured since I spent that much time typing it, I might as well post it here as well. Anywho, here ya go.... here are my "Must Haves"....

I agree... I freakin LOVE me some steel pedal. I was having a conversation w/ someone the other day. He said he hated the steel pedal.

I can't imagine not loving Steel Pedal. I also think it makes any song better.

True... But one thing I wish Farrar would take out of Ryan's playbook is not to talk/sing politics so damn much. I wish I had the superpower to build my perfect rock star. But as is, I can no more expect Jay to shut up about politics or Adams to stop his self-indulgent whining, than I can expect Jay...

And Ryan Adams has tons and tons of great stuff post-Whiskeytown. And half of it has never been released, except on Demos.

But his latest efforts have been awful... Just terrible.

Is this an apology for his latest album? Cardinalogy? Thank god I didn't buy the album and instead recieved it via internet leak. Because I certainly couldn't accept his apology, were that the case.

Here's a video I recorded in Greenville, SC a few months ago. I've seen him twice before and have listened to many of his live shows on archive.org. His voice was completely off on this night. Either he was sick or he's just lost his voice permanently. Hopefully it was the former. http://www.youtube...

I like his singing the best and his songs. But he just doesn't have the output of someone like Hood. Which is unfortunate, because his voice and songs are usually my favorites.

I love Hood too, don't get me wrong. I just think Cooley is THE MAN.
