I thought they hit their groove at Creosote. Seemed a little uncertain to me at first. After that though, they were awesome. What I liked best about this show was that Jay sounded like the old Jay. Not the more high pitched "Search/Okemah" Jay. He was definitely deeper and had more of that old UT gr...

Mike Cooley the most talented member of DBT?

IMO he is. Damn, his contributions to BTCD are by far my favorites.

3 Dimes Down
Ghost to Most
Bob

Cooley imo is the heart and soul of DBT not Patterson Hood. I like Hood alright but Cooley's songs are the best. Anyone else agree, disagree?

I guess I just don't get it. Not only do I not listen to it, I deleted it from my iTunes. I don't even want it coming up randomly I dislike it so much.

I'm sorry, but in my opinion, that song just flat out sucks.

Anyone going to the Drive-By Truckers show in Houston?

I've never seen these guys live. I missed them about three years ago at Tips in NOLA, but I'm a big fan. Should be a great show. I can't wait!

Anodyne, damn it's good

Just listened to Anodyne for the first time in a while and it still blows me away. Best record by any incarnation of UT, SV or Wilco imo. I absolutely love Max's contribution on this album. From Give Me Back the Keys...., to 15 Keys and on and on, he just added another element to the band. Damn, I w...

A better question could be how did they not make it but Slow Hearse did? Someone please defend that POS. If that was the first song I'd ever heard by Jay I would have never listened to him again.

Favorite Ryan is Whiskeytown's Strangers Almanac. From that album, 16 Days, Inn Town, Excuse Me While I Break My Own Heart are all great. Couldn't agree more with those selections. I also like Houses on the Hill, Jacksonville Skylight, Bar Lights and a lot other Whiskeytown stuff. Let it Ride is a ...

I've thought long and hard about which one I like better and I waffle back and forth. Let me say that I don't like either as much as I like their older work. I definitely think the Search is a huge step up from Okemah, which I just didn't care for much. IMO, two things are hurting SV 2.0. 1. Jay's v...

I bought my ticket yesterday online and had no trouble. Looking forward to the show. Glad to hear it sold out though.

Anyone know how many people the Meridian holds? I saw Old 97's there a few weeks ago and it was packed.

Your complaining that the venue is too small? Thats a good thing. Although I agree that I too was surprised that they are playing a venue of this intimacy. I wont be going to the Austin or Helotes shows due to a wedding, but I will definetly be in Houston for Sunday nights show. I have never been t...

Continental Club in Houston- anyone else surprised by venue?

It should be a great and intimate show, but I'm reallly surprised Son Volt couldn't play a bigger gig like the Meridian or Warehouse. Has there been any advertising for this show at all? I noticed it last week in a tiny ad in the Press. I would think this show would be a bigger deal. Anyone else goi...
