Farrar
may have struggled to live
up to the reputation he
established during his time
in Uncle Tupelo and Son
Volt, but his third solo
effort is one of his best
for almost a decade. The
album has a predominantly
acoustic and contemplative
feel, with interesting production
twists and lyrics that are
rich in finely observed
social commentary.
