I've still got my Nick Nolte voice, so screaming might not be an option!

If you hadn't shaved your head, you could have gone to the gig wearing an Hawaii shirt and hanged around like a Nick Nolte kind of guy

Ha! I didn't think of that! I think I've made a mess of it at the back. I'm gonna have to get a mate round to finish the back I think! Else I'll be going to Son Volt with a mullet! The Hass would be proud!

I'm not talking to myself. You're listening. That was fun the other day though when I WAS! Might do it again some time...

Howdy folks. Just back from Kilkenny. First night was fine although Jay's
vocal sounded a bit muddy and low in the mix for the first few tunes.
The second night was something else again; perfect sound and spot on
performances from the lads. Walbourne is an absolute wizard, Bryson is
solid and Duplantis bops around in best Greg Norton fashion.(His backing
vocals are terrific too).
First hearing of the newies. Particularly smitten with Atmosphere, Who,
Bandages, Ipecac, Chaos Streams and Joe Citizen Blues.
The full band version of 6 String Belief is phenomenal.
Of the oldies, Driving The View fairly launched my Guinness-addled noggin into the stratosphere and Windfall brought a lump to the throat as always.
As for Cortez The Killer, grown men were weeping.
Like Calexico, didn't recognize first night's encore and frankly it didn't hold
a candle.
Jay's looking, sounding and playing like one contented hombre.
Certainly when I spotted him strolling in the Kilkenny sunshine on Sunday
afternoon, newspaper tucked under arm, he seemed to have not a care
in the world.
For the folks going along to the London show : you won't be disappointed.

Managed to snag a setlist for the second night so here you go:

Afterglow
Jet Pilot
Endless War
Atmosphere
Gramophone
Chaos Streams
Ipecac
Joe Citizen Blues
Driving The View
Medication
Route
Loose String
Straightface
6 String Belief
Bandages
Who
Tear Stained Eye
Windfall
Drown

Encore of Cortez.....

I snagged a setlist too but from the long haired dude who was chief roadie and guitar tech.

And he did look happy and contented checking out the menu of some Indian restaurant when I spotted him. Very Happy

Cool stuff!

I guess it'll take a long while for me to get the live Son Volt experience
