Q: What is next for you/Son Volt?

Answer: Son Volt is touring around through the end of this year. We’ve been recording a new album and plan to have it out in the spring.

Cool! I was under the impression that Jay was hanging up the SV hat.
Very happy he’s been jarred to ruminating on current America with his
band. The only issue is the wait. Thanks for the heads up Ante!

Have any new songs shown up in the setlist? Maybe at the Sausalito show!

I saw them in early August outside of Chicago and there were no new tunes.

I read in an interview somewhere just before the release
of Notes Of Blue where Jay states he was pursuing other
avenues of expression. That SonVolt was taking an indefinite
hiatus. It was posted here. Maybe I interpreted it
incoherently. We had a small discussion and It didn’t go beyond
a few comments. I’m not very good at finding older posts
here. Maybe somebody knows something about this. I wouldn’t
mind a rehash and to find I was really incoherent.

No misinterpretation. He explicitly suggested as much. I can’t find the post either, but this came as a shock to me too. A very welcome shock!
