I use all of you as a resource...but here's my Top 3 (and genres are all over the place):
Roger Waters "Is This The Life We Really Want?"
Old 97's "Graveyard Whistling"
Son Little "New Magic"
Just discovered the last one and am really enjoying it.
Honorable Mention (and a slam dunk if it were still the 70's):
Neil Young "Hitchhiker" |

My favorite albums list is still up in the air. I've spent the majority of 2017 patching up holes in my listening world (primarily 80's indie/post-punk/punk/proto-punk/power pop). However, I do have a list of some of my favorite songs from the past year on Spotify. If you click the picture, you can access the playlist.
1. In Between/The Feelies
2. Darling/Real Estate
3. Feed the Pain/Lost Balloons
4. Chancer/The Stevens
5. Malibu Entropy/Rips
6. Tall Glass of Water/Tim Darcy
7. My Children/Protomartyr
8. Need to Feel Your Love/Sheer Mag
9. Rooftops/The Bats
10. Glide/The Dream Syndicate
11. Steppenwolf Mausoleum/Guided By Voices
12. Mad Shelly's Letterbox/Robyn Hitchcock
13. Plimsoll Punks/Alvvays
14. Enter Entirely/Cloud Nothings
15. On the Rocks/Bash & Pop
16. Alex Nieto/Chuck Prophet
17. Young Lady, You're Scaring Me/Ron Gallo
18. Away/Bed Wettin' Bad Boys
19. The Bully Boys/Chavez
20. Sleep Drifter/King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard
21. The Way You Used to Do/Queens of the Stone Age

I dig your list.
I really enjoyed The Feelies new one this year, two years in a row from them right?
I was a happy guy with Real Estate up until this last album, it didn't hit me like the previous ones.
I don't know how I missed Bash and Pop this year, I'm really enjoying it.
Slowdive's album is great too. Love me some shoegaze! |

Thanks! The Feelies had a RSD EP of covers last year. I don't have it, but I'd love it for the "Barstool Blues" cover alone. The new Real Estate record isn't as strong as the previous two, but I do like "Darling". The Bash & Pop record is very solid. Happy New Year! |

Great list, bellevillemusic. Always like seeing your end-of-the-year lists. I need to check out the new Aimee Mann and Hurray For the Riff Raff. I really like How Do You Spell Heaven beyond a few tracks. A really strong GBV record. Cheers! |
