Does anyone know much about the group the band? A friend let me borrow a cd, and I can't quit listening to it. These guys were great.

If your just getting into the Band I would watch "The Last Waltz" it's a great DVD. It seems to be sold everywhere too. Dylan's "Basement Tapes" is also a great album including the Band.

If this post is serious, then, yes, I've heard of them. Listen to 'Music From Big Pink'. That album is on in my house almost every day. |

I'm 29. I have heard the name always, and when I listened to the album, I knew a few of the songs, but never knew who sang them. I do know some GP, not sure why I was never introduced to the band until now.

I'd start with Music From Big Pink or The Band. Can't go wrong with either album.
